NOTIFICATION
New Delhi,
the 5th December, 2001
S.O. 1197(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of
section 61 of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 (53 of 1972), the Central
Government, being of the opinion that it is expedient so to do, hereby makes
the following further amendments in Schedule I
and Schedule IV of the said Act with effect from the data of publication
of this notification in the Official Gazette, namely:-
1. In
Schedule I to the said Act, -
(a)
in Part II A relating to “Fishes”, for
serial number 2 and the entry relating thereto, the following serial number and
entries shall be substituted, namely:-
“2. Shark
and Ray
(i)
Anoxypristis cuspidate
(ii)
Carcharhinus hemiodon
(iii)
Glyphius gangeticus
(iv)
Glyphius glyphius
(v)
Himantura fluviatilis

(b)
For Part IV B, relating to Mollusca and the entries relating there to, the following
Part IVB and the entries shall be substituted, namely:-

In Schedule IV to the said Act, after
serial number 18 and the entries relating there to, the following serial
numbers and entries shall be added, namely:-

Note: the
various Schedules to the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972 were amended from time
to time and the last notification in this regard was issued on 12th
July, 2001 vide S.O. 665 (E) dated the 11th July, 2001.
